Celebrate
Midsummer Night
Let’s
celebrate Midsummer Night and the Summer Solstice with a delightful walk in
Ballard and Shilshole! Join us on June
19, starting at 4 PM for a 5 or 10 kilometer walk starting at the Nordic
Heritage Museum in Ballard. This early
evening walk will be great for families, friends and anyone who enjoys a good
walk with beautiful views. Walkers will
start at the Museum anytime between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM, and finish by 9:00. There is no fee for this walk. The 5 kilometer route is suitable for
strollers and wheelchairs.
American
Volkssport Association credit will be available for a $3 fee. A beautiful embroidered patch designed by
Dorman Batson, featuring a whimsical scene of a fairy napping on a flower, will
be available for $9.50 (includes credit).

Walkers
interested in AVA Special Programs and ESVA Challenges can satisfy the AVA’s
American Gardens, Hooray for Hollywood and Museums criteria. ESVA challenges include Mountains and
Statues. Sharp-eyed walkers are
encouraged to seek out other challenges.
The
Nordic Heritage Museum is at 3014 NW 67th in Seattle. Take Exit 172 and go west on N. 85th
about 3 miles to 32nd Ave NW.
Turn left (south) on 32nd NW to NW 68th. Turn left and Museum and parking lot will be
on the right. METRO #17 stops along 32nd
Ave.
